The Lamentations of a Lonely God

I used to pray every night
Searching for god
And I wonder if she ever
Searched for me too
The loneliness of my bed
Would call me to her
Did she ever feel alone
In the big dark sky

God’s only ever known loneliness
That’s why when we cry about it
She does nothing about it
We were made in her image
And lonely’s all she’s ever been

I used to curse god
Every single night
And I wonder if she cursed me too
For I cursed her for damning me to this life
While she watched down at me jealous,
From her big lonely blue
