Only Black Girl in the World
Chalara Sutton graduated from Albion College in Albion, Michigan, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. She recently exhibited “Only Black Girl in the World” in the Fresh Looks 2022 exhibition hosted by the School of Art and Design at Eastern Michigan University. Chalara’s work analyzes the empowerment of black womanhood. She breaks free from societal norms, finding her own identity as a black woman through different forms of art, including paintings, collages, photography and prints.
